What and where are Distribution Center and Hubs, and how are they different?
Distribution center (DC.) at Rangsit is where CTL operates to store and distribute its customers' products. Along with DC, CTL has 3 hubs allocated in Lampang, Khon Kaen and Nakhon Si Thammarat to distribute the products by Cross-docking method.
What is TMS and why does CTL choose TMS to service its customers?
TMS or Transportation Management System is invented and developed by i2 Technologies, a world class IT company. CTL is the first company in Asia which implement the system to extend its delivery efficeincy.
What is WMS and what are its advantages?
WMS or Warehouse Management system is a module in SAP system, the main operation system in Siam Cement Group. Goods issueing, goods receiving and inventory can be efficiently managed by WMS and bar code system, another technology that CTL implement to increase speed and correctiveness at warehouse.
Besides TMS and WMS, what is another technology that CTL implements to increase customer service?
CTL is implementing GPS or Global Positioning System as a track-and-trace system by using sattelite signal and GSM network. In the near future, CTL customers will be able to track and trace their goods by connecting to CTL's web site or calling to CTL's Call Center.
